Dsrupted is a one-day conference held at the Telus Centre in Toronto, Canada. It was a great event, with many exciting things coming up for digital out-of-home.
Martin Porter of Liveposter USA was asked to speak on real-time data and the opportunities it holds for OOH in the future. Martin spoke about our work with BA, Microsoft Cortana and Johnnie Walker to name a few. Not only did he discuss how real-time can be generated, analysed and presented on digital signage, but he elaborated on ways social media and consumer engagement are becoming an increasingly popular method of advertising.
In other talks, Mike Pell of Microsoft explained how they are currently developing a technique on how to assist in the automation of data visualization. He looked at the US 2010 census, which was an interesting add-on, as it certainly got us thinking about how data has been utilized in digital signage over the past 5 years.
Brad Parler of Blinds.com mentioned an interesting point that ’it’s not about what you say, it’s about the engagement’.
But of course, it was Martin himself who said that ‘Liveposter is a drive for call to action’.
